Budget Getaways Review
A well-appointed urban pad overlooking the delights of Kalk Bay, Beacon’s View Seaview Apartment ticks the right boxes.
It's one of those classic 1930s Cape apartments, with Oregon floors, high ceilings and sash windows.
Sitting on the first floor and lovingly restored, it features a nice mix of antique furniture and local flavour.
It’s not surprising the guest feedback is complimentary. “This will definitely be the place I am going to stay when in Cape Town,” says one elated visitor. “Beacon's View was so lovely and comfortable we didn't want to leave!” says another.
Perfectly suited to a small family, the apartment sleeps four in two spacious bedrooms: Queen for mom and dad, and a twin for the juniors. There’s a shared bathroom and a guest loo.
Poking around the living area, the lounge and dining room are decorated in light colours and an eclectic mix of decor.
A TV and DVD player will keep the kids happy in the evenings, while the enclosed balcony with large sliding windows will have you glued to the ocean views.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped and includes a gas stove.
There’s plenty to keep you and the team busy here. What’s more, it’s all within easy walking distance, so we'd advise you to leave the Beemer in the off-street parking bay and don the loafers.
A few of the options… Head down the promenade and explore its collection of seaside restaurants, shops and cafes; Introduce the kids to the local play park and tidal pool - both a mere pebble's throw from the apartment; keep a look out for the fishing boats returning with the day's catch, and haggle for your evening snoek.
If the Kalk Bay strip is your thing and you want to be both central and comfortable, you won't do much better than Beacon’s View.
"We had the most delightful week-end at Beacons View in Kalk Bay. What a fabulous, funky, warm and comfortable apartment! Everything has been considered and supplied. We had everything we needed and more. The view is incredibly inviting and we sat by the window in the morning drinking coffee and watching the boats cruise in and out of the harbour. We sipped champagne at night with the lights of Kalk Bay twinkling up at us. We loved the proximity to everything. We parked our car and walked everywhere. Thank you for a delightful stay - we will be back!"

"The stay was amazing and the accomodation was out of this world. A very neat place, very cozy. My son and I loved it! His comments when we arrived was "dad it's as if this place was meant for us, we should buy it!". Thank you for the great service I will definitely recommend it to other people and also make use of it again with my next visit."

"We had a very comfortable stay. The view was idyllic and easy walk to the quaint haunts and eateries of Kalk Bay. The flat was spacious, clean and with all the conveniences we needed for the weekend."
