Budget Getaways Review

A forty-minute drive from Stormsriver Village, along a stretch of gravel road, Bishop's cove welcomes with warm smiles and one of the most breathtaking stretches of SA coastline.

What you have here is a small farm teetering on the edge of a cliff, with own private beach below.

For an extended meal of this dramatic setting, Bishops has two guest units: The Lodge (sleeps nine), and Sunbird Cottage (sleeps four).

Both are fully equipped for self-catering, but to enjoy this getaway in true relaxed fashion we suggest you go for the B&B or fully catered option.

Both The Lodge and Sunbird Cottage are architect-designed homes, with comfy finishes and cool, calming tones befitting their awesome settings.

The Lodge has four bedrooms (two of them ensuite) and a spacious living area and fully equipped kitchen. Long lazy meals will be enjoyed around the 14-seater dining table.

Sunbird Cottage offers two generous bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and ample space in the kitchen and living area.

Stepping outside, there's enough to do: gentle mountain hikes, burning yourself to a crisp on the private sandy beach, taking in a variety of resident game (including clawless otter and caracal), chilling on the deck with a fine glass of vino.

Amazing vistas, warm hospitality, lovely finishes, a cute 'guide' dog, Bishop's Cove is the stuff of holiday memories.

Guest Reviews

"Easily one of the best and most remote places on earth. Yet still easy enough to get to without too much trouble. The dirt roads are fun after a heavy rain but that adds to the adventure. Don't let it deter you as it really isn't too far and the pay-off is a beautiful totally equipped chalet with all the things you need to have the best time. The walk back up from the beach can be strenuous for anyone that isn't used to using their legs. But what a treat that beach is!"

"We stayed at Bishops Cove from 17 to 21st April 2015 and were blown away by the hospitality and breathtaking views. We were very fortunate to have stayed in the Main house and can recommend this for anyone looking for peace and quiet. Ed and Sally are amazing people and know just how to handle the guests at Bishops Cove. We arrived as holiday guests and left as friends. Will definitely be back!!"
