A sweet little spot with cottage pane windows and a sunny stoep hemmed in by tall leafy trees, Coot Cottage is homespun goodness.
Set 100m from Klein River, what you have here is an easy-flow layout with two double rooms (twin beds) featuring comfortable furnishings. Both have access to a shower room.
Further to the above there's a separate Studio with double room - this can be booked independently.
Percale linen and fluffy towels round off the Coot Cottage experience.
The kitchen is light and spacious, decked with a range of creature comforts - from dishwasher through to food processor.
Out the kitchen and into the living area, plonk that weary bod into a Pieter Deon designer sofa and take in the local artwork on display. In winter, the wood-burning fireplace will completment that Scrabble-and-excessive wine eve very nicely.
As for the balmy Overberg evenings, languid braais on the terrace (while the kids frolic on the lawn), a stroll into the village for a slap-up meal, are among your options.
A picture-pretty cottage in a picture-pretty town of Stanford, Coot Cottage hits the spot.
"What a lovely setting. A beautiful garden, a quiet street, and just 20 meters from the river. The house clearly newly renovated with lush cotton sheets, pillows, etc. There's a great fireplace, and DSTV for those that want it. The kitchen is also nice and functional, although we didn't really need it this time around since we were eating out."

"What a find! This cottage in the middle of Stanford was luxuriously appointed including dishwasher, washing machine and Satellite TV. All furnishing in the house and separate studio were to a very high standard and the three bathrooms made for easy living. The cottage is surround by a totally secluded garden along with excellent outside furniture. There is easy access to all the restaurants and shops in Stanford and the river is close by. We have stayed in Stanford before but this is just the best accommodation we have come across and would definitely be returning."
