This historic guest farm is draped over a plateau with gorgeous views of the Compassberg and surrounding mountains.
Ganora has it all, from San bushman painting to Boer War engravings, from farm walks to guided geology excursions. You might even get to build a snowman in winter.
The accommodation options are also in no short supply. For self-caterers and families, the Farm Cottage is your best bet. This simple, yet comfortable abode has three bedrooms: double ensuite, a twin and one with bunk beds. The living room has a Jetmaster, while the kitchen is fully equipped. Outside you’ve got a small patio with braai.
Dotted around the main homestead, the B&B accommodation takes the form of tastefully restored stables and farm outbuildings with exposed stone work, clay floor tiles and riet ceilings.
The seven Ensuite Rooms come with Queen or twin-bed options, ensuite bathrooms (with showers), heaters and electric blankets.
The three Shed Bedrooms are larger units overlooking the lucerne fields. These have additional sleeper couches for the kids (if needed).
Meals are served in the farm dining room, or out in the garden during summer, plus there’s a cozy pub on site. A fossil museum, farm strolls, 4x4 trails and miles of lonely farm roads are yours to explore.
