Herwin Farmhouse is all about views, views and more views.
Rising up behind, unfurling to the side, stretching out to the front is a grand vista incorporating geographical notables such as the Riviersonderend, the Swartberg and the Babilonstoren, while the spaces in between are filled with typical Overberg rolling landscape dotted with sheep, wheat and barley and fynbos.
The farm sits a manageable 15km from Greyton, which takes care of your Saturday morning: farmer's market, coffee shops, people gazing, art galleries, pretty houses, gentle oak-lined avenues, bric and brac souvenir shopping, etc.
Your hub for the rest of the weekend is a revamped Cape Dutch-styled farmhouse sitting under shady oak.
The house comes with three tidy bedrooms, all with ensuite shower, basin and toilet. The living area is open-plan and the kitchen a spacious affair. The furnishings and decor is simple and practical - at least that's what we deduce from the pics sent to us. There isn't a fireplace but we're informed plans are afoot in this direction.
Outside, you will find a gesellig stoep and more of those overpowering views of Nature's splendor.
Herwin has vast tracts (1350ha) of open land to explore on foot or bike, birdwatching (incl. blue crane and falcons), small game, farm animals, swimming in dams, a small mountain pool, mountain biking trails, and braaing til you drop.

"Lizl, baie dankie vir 'n wonderlike naweek wat die "Ystervarke" by julle kon deurbring. Die kersie op die koek was die lewende ystervark wat ons die Vrydagaand laat voor die deur gesien het. Die rustigheid en natuurskoon is onverbeterlik. Niks was vir julle te veel moeite nie. Dis uitstekende geriewe en goeie waarde vir geld."
