Seated on the Makhonjwa Mountain rim overlooking Barberton, this comely Victorian house was built in the 1890's and used as an officer mess by the British during the Boer War, and later owned by the same family for over half a century.
Now lovingly restored, with plenty of its historical character still in place, Kloofhuis makes for a convenient base to the town and surrounding area.
The guesthouse consists of three lovely ensuite rooms with double, single or twin beds, each equipped with TV, WiFi and tea and coffee. All three rooms enjoy very nice views of the mountain, town and garden.
There is a comfy common living and dining area, which opens onto the covered voorstoep where breakfast is served. Dinners can be arranged on request.
Secure, off-street parking is provided, as are braai facilities should you need them.
Ideally situated for a stroll into town, the Heritage Walk is a must do, covering the Belhaven Museum, Fernlea and Stopforth House, Jock of the Bushveld Monument, as well as the Block House used by the British troops.
All in all, a most pleasant in-town springboard to Barberton.
