As a kid, there was nothing more exciting than the prospect of that early morning wake up and road trip in the Peugeot. A long, hot and sticky road it often was, but so worth it as you arrived at your destination: a real Macoy HOTEL!
What the Lamberts Bay Hotel lacks in the fancy schmancy department, it would appear to make up with its friendly staff and good chow.
The rooms (twins, doubles and family options) could do with a cosmetic facelift, but they are clean and comfortable and offer everthing you need for a convenient stay, including DSTV, coffee and tea facilities, and an ensuite bathroom.
The hotel is planted in the center of town, right alongside the harbour. As such, some of the rooms have the bonus of views over the shimmering seafront.
The breakfasts are rumoured to be scrumptious, and the crayfish succulent at the Waves Restaurant – like ostrich in the Karoo, this is a must have when visiting Lamberts.
Also on offer on the hotel grounds are spa treatments, a huge swimming pool, and a conference room (not for us, thank you very much).
Plain and simple, the Lamberts Bay Hotel is convivial, family-friendly, and easy on the pocket as far as hotels go. We say give it a bash and let us know what you find.
"The accommodation is very basic at Lamberts Bay hotel. The bathroom, has a very old bath, with a shower in the bath. It's extremely noisy and we did not enjoy our stay. We left a day early and found a beautiful apartment on the beach for the same price. The hotel offers breakfast, that is a decent breakfast. That is the only aspect of the hotel that was enjoyable."

"My Wife and I had a wonderful stay at Lamberts Bay Hotel. The Hotel is situated close to the Small Harbour and has a wonderful view from the sea- facing Rooms. The food is of a great standard and the staff are friendly and very efficient. We will stay there again in the near future."
