Built back in the late 1800's, this heritage guesthouse offers cosy country vibe and plenty original character.
You'll find Laventaba on a quiet village street within an easy stroll of just about everything in Wakkerstroom. As such, a useful base for those of you wanting to be in the thick of the village action.
Taking a wander through Laventaba's interior, the general décor incorporates plenty in the way of historical touches, Oregon flooring, thick walls, sash windows and big ceilings.
The three rooms span a choice of either Queen, double or twin beds - all decked in crisp percale linen.
Each of the rooms has a Victorian fireplace, ensuite bathroom and a free-standing bath in the room itself - a bubble bath, a crackling fire, a glass of red, things are looking up.
Breakfasts (and dinners on request) are served in the central dining area, where there's another fireplace and comfy couches. Tea and coffee is on tap, while the long verandah is a good spot to kick back on after a day trawling the village.
Right in the heart of town, character and history aplenty, a peaceful garden setting, what more could you really want?

"Dit was die heerlikstenaweek wat ons lanklaas behad het. Die gasvrou, Wendy, en haar hulpe wasfantasties. Ons het heerlike ontbytegeniet, gelag en gesels. Ons kamer was perfek en die ander gaste waslekker gesellig. Ons gaan beslis weer terug volgende jaar met die "MusicalFestival". Wakkerstroom is tops! It was the best weekend wehad in a while. The hostess, Wendy, and her assistants were great. We had lovely breakfasts, laughed andchatted. Our room was perfect and theother guests wre great. We willdefinitely be back next year for the "Musical Festival".Wakkerstroom is great!"
