You can literally taste the salt at this laid-back log cabin on Glengariff's oceanfront.
What we have here is a double-storey abode with awesome ocean views - broken occasioinally by a passing whale - and enough space for six beachy weekenders.
In terms of layout, there's a main bedroom with Queen bed, two twin rooms, and a sleeper couch in the lounge. All flow onto a deck via sliding doors.
The open-plan living area leads onto the garden and more of those sea views, as well as a braai area and picnic table.
Back indoors, there's a separate dining room, a kitchen kitted with everything you need to whip up a greasy holiday feast, DSTV and DVD player for evening entertainment.
While the morally right thing would be to soak away your hours on the deck with frostie in hand, nearby Yellow Sands beach, the lagoon and Glengarriff's swimming beaches make for an effortless excursion. Alternatively, stay close to home and confine yourself to the rock pools below the cottage.
Comfy, spacious and well-appointed, beach weekends don't get much better than this.
"Spent nearly 3-weeks at Makulu Manzi, location brilliant, right on the beach with great views over rocks and beaches. Accommodation excellent, everything there that you need. Short drive to shops and cafe and other beaches. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting that area. Marilyn and John excellent hosts. Would go back again."
