Budget Getaways Review

Compact, cozy and centrally appointed, Marina Cottage strikes a pleasant chord for couples or a small family on the hunt for an easy-going base in Greyton’s historic quarter.

While Marina forms part of a larger house, you’re ensured plenty of privacy: own garden, own deck and private entrance. Meaning you can come and go as you please.

The guest feedback sings nothing but lilting praise: “Beautiful garden and surrounds”. “Wonderful homely character”. “Highly recommended!”.

Armed with this assurance, lets take a look at the cottage itself. This is split over two levels, with a steep staircase linking the two - as such not suitable for toddlers.

Upstairs you’ll find the loft-style ensuite double bedroom, draped in fine linen and light modern tones. From here it's a natural flow to the timber deck and its views over the Sonderend Mountains - we can think of worse places to kick off the morning with a steaming cuppa.

Downstairs you’ll find the open-plan living room with dining area and equipped kitchen, plus two extra single beds for the kids and a bathroom (with bath) for their use.

Mod-cons come in the form of free WiFi and new and shiny appliances.

A pleasant garden area with braai and burbling stream adds to the country experience, as will a relaxed amble down to Greyton’s legendary Saturday morning market, its restaurants, coffee shops and general village delights - all part of the Greyton weekend script.

Comfortable and hassle-free, good attention to detail, friendly hosts, lots of thoughtful extras, easy proximity, Marina Cottage cuts the BG mustard.

Guest Reviews

"Very nice!"

"I have stayed at Marina Cottage several times and it is situated in a very quiet street. It is about 300-meters from the market which is held every Saturday and must not be missed. The owners who live next door are very accommodating and are very pleasant people. I have used the accommodation having my dog sleep in the cottage. You can walk everywhere in Greyton from this cottage. It is well worth spending some time when you visit Greyton."

"Highly recommended!"

"Wonderful homely character, in lush tree stetting. It is walking distance to the Saturday market which is a big bonus. The owners are warm and friendly, and tried to do their best to make our stay memorable. We visited with our two daughters who loved playing in the little stream next to the cottage "searching for fairies". We will definitely return!"

"Beautiful garden and surrounds. Horses came to eat some of the plants in the front garden- feels like staying on a farm. Friendly reception on arrival & some good recommendations on restaurants & activities. We traveled with a 4-month old which was ok, however the stairs leading to the bedroom are quite steep- a toddler will be difficult to manage."
