When Isabelle and Yves Peneff packed their bags and traded Belgium for sunny South Africa, they were in search of “tranquility and beauty”. That is exactly what they found when they settled in Mtunzini and opened Nkawu Cottage.
What we have here is a nicely decorated self-catering cottage a short distance from the magnificent dunes and seemingly never-ending beaches of Mtunzini.
The cottage has two bedrooms fitted with air-con (a non-negotiable in the sultry summer months). The one room has a double bed, the other two singles. A third single can be arranged on request. The bedrooms share a bathroom, which makes Nkawu maybe better suited to a family.
The open-plan living and dining area is simply furnished. The kitchen is fully-equipped with an array of creature comforts.
There is a TV, but your time might be better spent around the braai area or a bonding game of table tennis with the kids.
Stepping off the property, horse riding, mountain biking, golf and a range of water sports are up for grabs – don't forget to pack your own beach towel.
Sun, sea and surf, Nkawu Cottage is a Mtunzini must.
