Sitting in a private corner of Amalindi Farm, 15 kays outside of Paarl, the friendly Du Plessis family have created a stylish farm cottage and pretty garden that's ready and waiting for your next Boland jaunt.
Ease of location is a big plus at Nossie's Nook. As one happy patron suggests, the farm is literally halfway to everywhere: “The setting is the best... Stellenbosch, Paarl, the wine routes, and a 25-minute drive from the city.”
Taking a scout around the cottage itself, you’ve got a swanky interior of contrasting tones, exposed brick and tasteful furnishings, all pulled together within a spacious open-plan living area and kitchen.
There’s a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy, aircon to keep the scorch of summer at bay and DSTV for rainy and angry south-easter days.
The separate bedroom has a double bed and built-in bunk beds, plus there’s a double sleeper couch in the living room. The bathroom sports a free-standing bath and shower.
Outdoors you’ve got a built-in braai, a picnic table and seating in the shade of a tree, as well as a lawned area to stretch those old creaky legs. You’re also welcome to visit the wholesale nursery on the farm, which is about 100m from the cottage.
Convenient location, well-appointed accommodation, tranquil farm surrounds, friendly hosts... For a Winelands base, Nossie's Nook is as good as they come.
"It was our most memorable stay in the Cape province to date. The setting is the best, halfway to everywhere, Stellenbosch, Paarl, wine routes and 25-minutes drive from the city. Nossie's Nook is a wonderful stay and is family friendly. We were two adults with two children and there was more than enough space for everybody. This is a must for anybody who want's to be just outside the hustle and the bustle of the city. A wonderful self catering cottage and equipped with more than you need. "We had a very lovely stay here. Very neat and clean. The hosts were very friendly. We felt very safe and secure and within close reach of Paarl, Stellenbosch and great restaurants and winefarms. The sound of birds made us feel like being on a farm and away from the city. Very enjoyable."

"I was really pleasantly surprised by this beautifully renovated cottage. The decor and fittings are very stylishly done. There are so many great aspects of the decor especially that I just want to copy. The garden and the whole property is also stunning with an outside braai area and big lawn just outside the cottage. Also very well located close to the N1/Klapmuts turn off. Great if you need a place to stay for an event close by or for work as it is easy access to town, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Wellington. Perfect in between spot. The owner does renovations and building for a living, so you can expect quality."
