Built in 1850 as a flour mill on the banks of the Kowie River, The Old Mill has been revamped into a stylish weekend pad, laden with oodles of old-world charm and a healthy dose of the modern.
Made up of a self-catering house and a separate cottage, The Mill sleeps sleeps 10 comfortably across six bedrooms.
The main house features high ceilings, exposed beams, yellowwood staircase, three bedrooms (one ensuite, the other two with interleading bathrooms), an equipped kitchen, dining area, TV room, lounge area, and a downstairs bathroom with bath and shower.
The Cottage is a self-contained unit with its own kitchen, lounge and dining area with fireplace. Hardly a garret, there are three bedrooms, the main of these ensuite, while the other two share a bathroom.
Leading off your outside living area and braai zone is a pleasant garden with magnificent views over the Kowie River mouth. What's more, you have your own jetty for fishing or mooring the hand-me-down Tupperware canoe.
A historic landmark right on the water, when it comes to big ol' family getaways, you don't get much better than this.
