If you like your getaways wholesome, historic and jam-packed with potential laid-back adventure, Snow Cottage is as good a base as any to all that Rhodes has to offer.
Located at the edge of the village, the cottage sleeps five across two snug, yet spacious bedrooms. If your rugrats are under the age of ten, they'll enjoy a 50% discount - reason enough to make the long trek.
There is one full bathroom and a well equipped kitchen. The open-plan dining and living area is comfortably furnished, and the fireplace in the living room will be called into active duty come winter, as this is serious snow country. To prove it, the ex-Tiffendell ski resort lies 26km up the hill.
Subject to prior arrangement, you are free to bring your pooch along (but remember, it's a long drive in).
If you can't do without your DSTV, bring your own decoder. But we reckon pack the board games instead, or pop into the Rhodes pub for your fix, and a beer at the same time.
