Unless you're visiting during the week, The Berghuisie falls slightly out of the Budget Getaways price threshold. But wow, for a setting and cottage like this we'd certainly be willing to shell out a few extra bucks.
Teetering right on the edge of the Makhonjwa Mountains, with the Barberton Valley tumbling down below, what better view to start the day? Particularly if preceded by a life-affirming dip in the splash pool.
Looking inside, the cottage accommodates four guests in double and twin bedrooms. The living area is cozy and compact and nicely decorated, with an open-plan kitchen area, a dining table, large fireplace to ward off the chill, and some comfy sofas.
This living area flows onto the deck, pool, braai area and lawned garden, with plenty of shade for summer.
Besides the spectacular setting, the surroundings offer tranquility, birdlife galore, and easy strolls. With Barberton only 4km away, gettting into town is a breeze... assuming you can drag yourself away from those views.
Memorable setting, character-packed abode, The Berghuisie is definitely one to add to your Budget bucket list.
