Surrounded by indigenous trees and birdsong, a tranquil lily pond to the front and a pretty view onto the valley, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better spot to get away from it all. This is a nature lovers paradise.
It gets even better, though. The entire smallholding is smothered in swathes of pristine fynbos, with hiking trails and farm strolls high on the activity agenda, not to mention a plunge pool for cool off's, within walking distance.
To satisfy any urban craving, the quirky named village of Baardskeerdersbos is five kays down the drag, while Gansbaai and Stanford are a short drive away - 24km and 42km, respectively.

The rondawel is elegantly furnished with simple country pieces; whitewashed walls and timber floors add to the charm.
A Queen bed graces the main bedroom - an ensuite bathroom (shower only) leads off from here. The front door opens to a patio with outlook onto the pond.
Separate from your sleeping quarters is a fully equipped kitchen, with gas stove and cozy dining area for two. There’s a braai area outside and timber deck.
The unit is powered by gas and solar - thankfully there's not a TV in sight.
At R1000 nightly it's not the cheapest of Budget Getaway options, but in our book still worth the spend. You be the judge.
A combo of simple cosy charm and picturesque setting, this little rondawel is the kind of spot where the rest of the world no longer really matters… Start packing.
"When the weather is good (we had a couple of very wet and windy days) this setting is just as idilic as the photos show it. The rondavel is a spacious delight, also the extension into the bathroom/shower. The separate kitchen is small and functional. Sitting in the morning sun beside the pond, birds and butterflies fluttering by in profusion is as wonderful as it sounds. Walking in the fynbos amongst the flowering bushes, along quite steep pathways, was a joy; and particularly the descent and climb in the kloof. About 1.5km back to the tar and you have easy access to the coast which offers many choices."
