Budget Getaways Review
Beautifully restored and set in a lovely garden with splash pool close at hand, Tumbleweed Cottage is a gem of a getaway.
It sits proud in McGregor itself and features oodles of charm, style and mod-cons to ensure an über comfy stay.
Sleeping six in total, Tumbleweed has three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. Upstairs, you’ll find the main loft bedroom with Queen bed and ensuite bathroom with gorgeous ball and claw Victorian bath.
On ground level, there’s a double bedroom and twin bedroom that share a bathroom with shower and separate loo.
The living area is light and airy, the open-plan kitchen comes with all the gadgets (coffee machine with starter pack), and the lounge is fitted with fireplace, DSTV (an extra of R50 per day) and free Wifi.
Heading out the living area, the covered patio has a large braai, which in turn flows onto the swimming pool and garden.
All this and a great position that's an easy walk to the village restaurants and coffee shops, Tumbleweed Cottage a good bet for families or couples out for a stylish McGregor weekend.
"Opening the door to this cottage simply blew my breathe away. A clean, neat, and very well-equipped cottage - we were pleasantly surprised! In this cottage you are nothing short of literally anything - just bring along yourself, food and toothbrush / toothpaste. The owners have really thought of everything - from a chilled bottle of wine on arrival (much needed after a long road trip), pegs to aprons, coffee and rusks, shampoo to hairdryer, shower gel to towels, even mosquito nets over beds - the list is endless...a real home-away-from-home! We enjoyed the splash pool, with nice braai area, and beautiful maintained garden. Definitely value for money and will surely recommend Tumbleweed Cottage. We enjoyed being in McGregor, savoring the peace and tranquility - we'll be back, for sure. "

"A great stay! We loved the swimming pool and outdoor area. However, the "third" upstairs bedroom is a loft with no door. This probably shouldn't be advertised as a third bedroom and definitely isn't suitable for a baby staying upstairs (as noise travels). Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable stay."
