Hidden between trees on the banks of the Knysna River, Velvet Moon Cottage lies within the appealing Simola Golf and Country Estate.
Described by a recent guest as a "little gem of a cottage", it's an intimate spot with a distinct country feel. The two bedrooms are cozy, with cushy linen and loads of natural light. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped and the living room will have you bursting to kick off the shoes and flop into a recliner.
Velvet Moon boasts two covered decks with gorgeous vistas over the Estate, as well as braai facilities – what better place to spend an afternoon flipping a few kebabs over the coals. If you are planning your trip during the chillier winter months, the indoor fireplace will keep them bones warm.
Nearby activities include a few firm favorites, such as swimming, fishing and canoeing, and the throng of Knysna itself. We reckon keep the latter for a rainy day.
