Motoring along the N7 highway at 140km/h, there is little obvious inducement to enter Malmesbury. But, once in and past the silo temples erected to the god of Bokomo, it is a pretty enough town with more than its fair share of Georgian-Victorian buildings and hilly greenery. While the local property market went through a minor boom, tourism hasn’t made much of a dent: the cash-strapped info office is occasionally threatened with closure and there’s not much available in the way of self-catering accommodation. But hey, Malmesbury does boast an ostrich abattoir and one of the country’s last surviving Drive-ins. We unfortunately couldn’t stick around for Kick Boxer 7. You know, things to do, places to go.
