Framed by Barberton's mountains and the Bushveld's acacias, Aloe Ridge is a tranquil spot just seven kays from town.
Your accommodation comes in two forms. The original Homestead consists of three B&B rooms that are well-suited to couples. These are nicely appointed and offer a mix of double and twin beds. Extra single beds are available for small families.
The farmhouse has a relaxed and casual vibe, with a main dining room and covered terrace opening to a swimming pool and lawned garden.
Set away from the farmhouse are the two self-catering cottages.
Swallow and Sunbird both offer fantastic views over the surrounding countryside, and are well equipped and furnished.
Sunbird has a double and twin bedroom, while Swallow has a double and Queen. Both have two bathrooms - one ensuite and one shared - fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, covered verandahs, fireplaces and braai facilities.
If hubbie isn't up to slaving over a hot stove, meals can be arranged at the guesthouse, as can packed lunches if you're heading out for the day.
Keeping busy at Aloe Ridge takes the form of either relaxing around the pool, chilling around a braai at your cottage, or heading out to explore the many walks and trails on the farm. Birders are well catered for in and around the farm koppies, where great views and sundowners can also be had.
Couples, families or larger groups, Aloe Ridge offers got comfort, peace and quiet and a soothing environment to rest them weary city bones.
