A mere 300m from the Arendsig Cellar and tasting rooms, on a working wine and fruit farm near Robertson, Arendsig Self-catering Cottages offer tranquil vistas over the vineyards and orchards, with the sluggish waters of the Breede River nearby.

Taking a look at the general setup, all five are situated within easy reach of each other, yet with enough privacy if you’re only booking one.
The larger two cottages (Family Cottages) have two ensuite twin bedrooms and sleep four total. One of the Family Cottages has a hot tub. The two Small Cottages have single ensuite bedrooms, and are suited to couples.
All are simply, yet stylishly furnished, with light and airy interiors that open onto a patio equipped with braai, picnic table and brolly. Each comes with a freebie view over the vineyards.
Well-equipped for self-catering, the kitchenettes are fitted with small stoves, a kettle, microwave and fridge. The living areas feature a dining table, sofa and built-in indoor braai/fireplace. Aircon, Wifi and cell signal are common features to all. Three of the units have Dstv.
Keeping busy at Arendsig won’t be a problem: mountain bike trails, farm walks, canoeing and fishing on the Breede, are among your options. Robertson, Bonnievale and McGregor are all an easy drive away, as is a decent spread of local wineries.
Simple to get to from Cape Town, great for couples, families or a bunch of friends, no cell signal, you're all set for weekend of chilled seclusion.

"We had a delightful stay on this working wine farm, where the thoughtful and reflective owner, Lourens van der Westhuizen, produces stunning wines. The tasting conducted by Lourens was informative and we are very happy indeed to have discovered this gem of a winery. (Tip: If you are an ABC person, one sip of the chardonnay will cure you of this affliction!) We also want to mention specifically how impressed we were with the fact that the kitchen in the cottage was properly equipped. Often preparing a meal in a self-catering cottage can be a bit frustrating because kitchen utensils that one takes for granted at home are missing. Not here!"

"Always great to go to the Breede River and enjoy swimming in it on those hot summer days. The accommodation is perfectly good, the air conditioner a very welcome addition. Kitchen is well kitted out with a pan which is actually non-stick, and unsurprisingly for a wine farm, the wine glasses are decent, not those thick rimmed ones you often find. There is a coffee plunger, the braai is great. We had a few issues with kettle not working for example, but the person who checked us in, Shanell, was amazingly responsive and just great!"
