A handy base for couples or a small family staying in the Elgin Valley near Botrivier - not to mention a useful option to soak up overflow from neighbouring getaway, Underhill Farm - Avondson Cottage is new on the scene and already striking the right note.

There's something for everyone here: fresh farm air, mountain biking and hiking trails in the pastoral Oak Valley, a dam for fishing and swimming, restaurants, farmstalls and wineries nearby.
Perched about 15m from the main homestead, above a double garage, the unit features two separate bedrooms (Queen and twin), a comfortable living room with TV, and an open-plan kitchen.
There is a shared bathroom with loo, basin and shower. Quality bedding and towels are included, with a double sleeper couch in the living room should you need it.
Leading out from the living area is a spacious timber deck with outdoor furniture and superb valley views.
You’ve got your own private parking and entrance tucked below the flat.
So, whether it's for that quiet rural break from the big smog, or a comfy springboard to the Elgin Valley, Avondson is easy-going and hassle-free.
"We enjoyed our stay very much. The place was beautiful and much better than the photos on the site. It was a good place to unwind and get away from everything as there is no reception and it's pitch black at night. We will definitely recommend this place for a getaway from the city life."

"We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Avondson Cottage. Perfect for a family of four (you can even fit in a 5th on the sleeper couch), very comfortable and spacious. All that we had to bring was food and the rest was all available to us. Long walks near the dam, mountain biking, feeding the horses and a braai to end off a superb day. I would definitely recommend this to the active family who are looking for the space to go and explore."

"One of the most beautiful gems to be found hidden in Elgin. The accommodation was perfect and very comfortable with such special touches and everything we needed. Great value for money and warm, hospitable hosts, not to mention the most gorgeous dogs I've ever met. Avondson is so close to gorgeous mountain biking and running trails in Oak Valley and the area surrounding the farm. A true find!"
