Tucked into a gorgeous garden of azaleas and shady trees on the slopes of Champagne Valley, Ema-Fweni's two privately appointed cottages are the ideal material for that fantasy Berg hideaway.
Both couples and small families are catered for, with a two- and four-sleeper cottage available.
The emphasis at both is on uber comfort: electric blankets, good linen, overhead fans, fireplaces, DSTV (bring your own card), covered patios, braai facilities - all wrapped up in those spectacular vistas.
Both units come with ensuite bathrooms. There's also a splash pool at each - which will go down a treat in summer.
Local action takes the form of some well-known hiking trails, which kick off virtually at your front door. A short drive away you've got canopy tours, horse riding, birds of prey displays, river rafting, archery, guided walks and drives, go-carting, helicopter flips, and several restaurants. Heck, we're tired just thinking of the options!
With plenty of weekend comfort and plenty to do, there's not much more you could want from a Central Berg getaway.

"We really enjoyed our stay, wished we had a few more days. The location is close to all attractions in the area, and you are literally right under the mountain. Fantastic hiking and views of Cathkin Valley. Very quiet and private setting. Buy whatever you need in advance from the supermarket in Winterton otherwise you will end up driving all the way back."

"We spend 5 nights at Ema-Fweni with 3 small children. We enjoyed every moment of it. The privacy, the best view possible and the rock pool.The cottage is lovely and served all our needs. Apart from a bit of dust, it was well maintained.This place is an absolute MUST. You will not get a better view than this!"

"This place is a beautifully located in the mountains and a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and any issues were sorted out. The braai area and little swimming pool are a great touch! We will definitely be going back and will stay for longer this time!"
