Sitting pretty just 20 minutes out of Langebaan is a West Coast game and fynbos reserve called Thali Thali Game Lodge.
Oozing that typical laid-back West Coast attitude, Thali Thali is a nice change from what you’d usually find in this neck of the woods.
With a collection of three restored farm-laborer cottages and five luxury canvas tents, all designed to complement the original homestead, there is plenty of space to go around. The luxury tents make “camping” a breeze. Each tent sleeps four in a double bed and sleeper couch and has an en-suite bathroom, a wardrobe, spacious patio and its own braai facilities. The kitchen essentials make self-catering a breeze.
The cottages come in the form of a two-bedroom unit (a double bed, a set of bunk beds and a sleeper couch) and two one-bedroom units (a double bed and a sleeper couch). Each cottage is fully self-catering with a well equipped kitchen and has both an outdoor and indoor braai area, not to mention a lovely stoep.
At the heart of Thali Thali is the entertainment area, which makes this a great getaway for larger groups. In addition to great accommodation and awesome game drives (lookout for the zebra, giraffe and a number of various buck!) Thali Thali also has a really lovely restaurant and doubles as a wedding and function venue.
Thali Thali Game Lodge is a real gem on the West Coast and definitely worth a visit.
"My partner and myself spent 2 nights at the Lodge. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly which was a nice touch. We stayed in the tent. It was nicely furnished.and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the game drive and saw quite a few animals also a lot of bird life. We really enjoyed our visit and found it very relaxing. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Trigger the dog is lovely and very friendly."
