Beaufort West is the largest town in the arid Great Karoo region, and boasts bright blue skies, amazing landscapes and nature at its best. Visit the Karoo National Park about 5 km south of town and enjoy a 4x4 trail, a game drive or some birding. You can also walk the fascinating Fossil Trail to discover the Karoo’s ancient history. Visit Olive Grove Farm about 20 km outside of Beaufort West and take a tour. Go mountain biking or hiking, or enjoy a spot of star gazing.
