Once home to the farm hand of Middeldam Plaas, this little worker's cottage has been spruced up, and together with its big sister, Middeldam Plaashuis, offers an authentic Overberg farm stay.
Ideally suited to a small family or for the overflow of a large group booking at Plaashuis (set 80m away), Wegbreek sleeps four and offers plenty in the way of privacy and uninterrupted rural views.
Taking a look around, the cottage is simply styled, with dakriet ceiling, cement screed floors and a laid back, relaxed vibe. There are two bedrooms, both with twin beds and a shared bathroom with shower and loo. Linen and towels are provided.
The living area is open-plan to an equipped kitchen, which also has an indoor fireplace and braai. There is a dining table and benches in the kitchen area - braai on the go, this is the place to hunker down for the evening.
Back in the glaring sunlight, you’ve got a compact stoep with wide open vistas and a small plunge pool to cool off in summer - believe us, it gets hot in these parts.
Plenty in the way of things to do in the area as well, so keeping the team busy isn’t going to be a problem. Head off to De Hoop Nature Reserve (30km away) or take a cruise into Bredasdorp for an art, craft, coffee shop trawl, and a visit to the interesting Shipwreck Museum.
