Enjoy views of the gorgeous Breede River from this well-appointed, spacious 2 bedroomed thatch fisherman’s cottage. Nestled within the grounds of the well-known Breede River Lodge & Fishing Resort. Newly renovated & beautifully decorated the apartment has: A South facing private use patio with seating, boasting Breede River views and a North facing outside communal garden with braai area and table bench make this cottage unique.
The main bedroom has a queen size bed and sleeper couch, and an en-suite bathroom with bath, basin, toilet. This bedroom leads out through a glass sliding door, onto the lovely front facing patio – relax in bed and enjoy the river views. The upstairs loft bedroom, only accessible by a steep wooden staircase, has a nifty skylight with views of the river and two comfy single beds, hanging and packing space. Guests do need to be able to climb stairs to sleep in the loft bedroom. Another bathroom downstairs has a shower basin, toilet.
The spacious lounge area has plenty comfy seating, an indoor fireplace for cosy winter nights, TV with DSTV and glass sliding doors leading to the River facing patio. Relax on the patio and listen to the beautiful birdsong provided by a multitude of birds. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped, dishwasher, undercounter oven, hob, fridge, kettle & toaster and all you will need to prepare great meals at home.
The Cottage is set towards to edge of the resort offering privacy. Being fully self contained you can look forward to a relaxing get away. Bedding and bath towels are provided - just bring you own Beach towels. Secure parking inside the gates for your car right outside the unit.
River View Cottage offers a great getaway for couples or a family of 4 and access to the unspoilt paradise of Witsand. Rest, explore, swim, boat and fish beautiful Witsand! Take a short walk through the complex to the sandy River bank of the warm Breede River or spend time at the resorts Pool. The Blue Flag swimming beach in Witsand is just a short drive away and the rock pools yields a plentiful harvest of oysters and mussels, with the relevant permits. There is also a dedicated jetty to launch your boat at the Lodge.
Witsand is a kitesurfing mecca and has elaborate mountain bike trails for beginner to expert. The famous PiliPili Restaurant & Bar is 500m away and the little town offers quaint coffee shops and a craft market and other shops.
All in, a great little getaway to base yourself at during your next Witsand stay.
