The Butterfly Villa is in all ways a dreamy kind of place, from beautifully furnished and decorated interiors to flowing and open outdoor living spaces, this is one gorgeous home! What adds the cherry on top is without doubt its spectacular position on a quiet, upper level road with gob-smacking vistas out over False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, not to mention the surrounding mountains as well. In a nutshell, if it’s style and ocean views you’re after, then The Butterfly Villa is your spot.
Catering for up to 10 guests, the villa has four bedrooms - aptly named in relation to their chosen décor. Honey Moon Suite (queen bed), Carnation Room (queen bed), Aquarium Room (bunk bed / twins) and Tulip Room (queen bed), are each decked out in quality furnishings and linen. The Honeymoon suite has an ensuite bathroom and opens out onto a private deck with the most incredible ocean and mountain vistas. There are an additional three shared bathrooms in the house.
The living space flows around an open plan kitchen, which is well equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer and large fridge/freezer. The lounge has a scattering of comfy sofas, as well as a fireplace for winter. There’s a dining table for family feasts. Throw open those sliding doors and spill out onto a large covered patio with built in braai, as well as a fire pit. Need we add that the ocean views from here are as good as ever, this is sundowner territory second-to-none.
Some nice added extras to sweeten the deal come in the form of a 10-seater jacuzzi, with top-notch views, DSTV, Netflix and WiFi on tap, auto-start generator incase Eskom dim’s the lights and a fynbos garden with hammock if you’re wanting to escape to a quiet spot.
Being this central makes keeping busy a doddle here. Walk down to the beach, take a hike along the coast or into the mountains, visit the penguin’s at Betty’s, go to lunch at one of the nearby restaurants or hey, just pull up a chair and a good book and drench yourself in the views from the patio.
Decent value if you’re going as a group of friends or a few families sharing. While the nightly rate might be heavy for a Budget Getaway, these views and a house like this are worth the splash.
