Oewerzicht farm is situated in the picture perfect Greyton valley on the banks of the Riviersonderend River. It is the ideal place for a peaceful, fun and romantic getaway. Apart from our campingsite, Oewerzicht has farm cottages, luxury tents and a wedding venue. Just a few things that's available. Absolute devine ablution blocks, swimming in the river, fishing, braai, MTB trail, electricity exc... Come and enjoy the peace, quiet and tranquility!
There are four cottages (Uitsig Cottages) on the hill situated about 300 meters from the river, with panoramic views of the Riviersonderend mountain range.
There are also 6 Stone Cottages with communal kitchen area on the banks of the Sonderend River, and communal wood-fired hot tub.
There are also three farm style cottages, situated about 50 meters from the river - Bergzicht, Welgeleë and Citrus.
Kootjie and Isa Viljoen, Catherien and the twins Danielle and Phillip live on this working farm, 9 km from the quaint and romantic village of Greyton. Oewerzicht is a fully operational farm, harvesting apples and pears. The rest of the farm consists of rolling wheat lands, large flocks of sheep and if you are lucky, you'll also see a herd of Reebok roaming freely on the farm.
Birdwatchers will also be delighted to see, amongst other, blue cranes, secretary birds, and large flocks of guinea fowl.
Guests are welcome to hike the trails on the farm or bring mountain bikes along to enjoy the magnificent scenery through the orchards. Bikes can also be rented in the village.
Children will have a wonderful time on the farm with its stretch-out lawns, and guests are welcome to bring their well-behaved dogs (max 1 per cottage, or 2 small dogs, but only on arrangement). The owners' child-friendly Boxers, Katy and Anna, loves popping in and saying hello to guests visiting the farm.
There is a challenging 25km mountain bike trail for those who enjoy physical adventures. One of the features of the farm is the suspension bridge over the Riviersonderend river, this is the only way, other than a boat or float, guests can get from the main farm area to the Safari Tents on the banks of the river.
