Farm buildings have been restored to their former glory capturing the atmosphere of a bygone era with all the necessary luxuries to ensure a comfortable stay. Lounges have comfortable couches and scatter cushions with feather inners, fireplaces, a verandah, and bathrooms with Victorian baths and showers, ensuring an unforgettable stay away from city life. Enjoy this piece of unspoiled earth, clear skies, and bright stars. An ideal environment for children to play, enjoy endless walks, and spend precious time with loved ones. Accommodation is self-catering and includes braai facilities. Hot water bottles are available for the chilly winter months.
1830 Cottage - This homely cottage consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This unit features an open-plan well-equipped kitchen, dining table, and a lounge area with a wood-burning fireplace. This Colonial jewel boasts a verandah with beautiful views.
Dot’s Cottage - The cottage has 1 bedroom with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, bath, toilet and basin. The kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, a microwave, fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery.
Westbrook - Make yourself at home in a typical 4-bedroom Karoo farmhouse with wooden floors and a farm-style kitchen. Located at the foothills of Toorberg mountain on the upper farm, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the Karoo while relaxing on the verandah.
Area Information
Langfontein, situated 50 km from Graaff-Reinet, is an oasis in the Karoo surrounded by mountains and picturesque scenery, infused with silence and old-world charm. The manor house was built in 1860 by the former president of the ZAR, Jacobus Burgers. A wagon load of yellowwood from the Knysna forest, was used for the floors and ceilings of this stately Karoo home.
