Redstone Hills Guestfarm near Calitzdorp is nestled within what must be one of the most spectacular geological landscapes in the whole South Africa. The striking reddish-hued koppies which surrounds the farm are constructed from iron-rich conglomerates which were deposited by turbulent rivers in the Cretaceous Period, some 130 millions years ago. In a sense these blood-red rocks reflect the painful and energetic birth of the new African continent.
All cottages are well spaced apart, except for Hanepoot and Vineyard which are close.. All (except Hanepoot) has fireplace/ open hearths for indoor barbecue as well as outdoor barbecue facilities.
Aloe Gardens has a queen size bed and bathroom with corner bath and walk-in shower,limited satellite tv, kitchen and fireplace for indoor barbecue Air conditioner. Panel heaters.
Birds Nest has a queen size bed in main and 2nd room with twin beds. 1 bathroom with walk-in shower and bath. Limited satellite tv, fireplace for indoor barbecue, air conditioner, kitchen.
Ostrich Place is 1 bedroom with double bed and one with twin beds. 2 x bathrooms with showers and baths, satellite tv, fireplace and open hearth, kitchen, portable aircon.
Vineyard Cottage is 1 bedroom with double bed and one with twin beds. 2 x bathrooms with showers and baths, satellite tv, fireplace and open hearth, kitchen, portable aircon.
Red Rock is situated in red hills, and has 2 bedrooms with twin beds, en suite bathrooms (showers and spa baths), kitchen, limited satelite tv, fireplace, open hearth, Free WiFi, air conditioners.
Bushman Cottage has 1 queen bed and 2 bedrooms with twin beds., 2 bathrooms [1x shower and 1x bath], fireplace, limited satelite tv, open hearth in dining room, air conditioner., kitchen, spectacular view of red hills, vineyards and river.
Hanepoot has 2 bedrooms with twin beds and 1 bathroom (shower and bath), satellite tv, small kitchen unit, outdoor barbecue facilities and a spectacular view. Panel heaters in all rooms. Overhead fans. This is a more basic cottage.
Enon has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One with bath, one with shower. Satellite tv, fully equipped kitchen, open hearth [kitchen] for indoor barbecue, outdoor barbecue facilities. Has a pretty good view of vineyards and red hills and a nice veranda.
