Breede Escape offers an experience close to nature, right on the Breede River on a working farm with the option to camp or book the HutCamp. The HutCamp is ideal for a small group of friends ( up to 10 adults ) or 1 - 3 families to spend time together. Each of the cute tiny huts has a double bed and two kiddies beds, with own loo and small washbasin. You will have private and exclusive use of the HutCamp and facilities. A minimum rate per night is applicable ( cost for 4 adults ).
Camping options are available for bookings of 1 - 10 guests at the smaller numbered sites and for groups of 10 - 30 guests at the PrivateCamp. Each of these with private bathroom, roofed area with indoor braai, fire pit and kayak at the river. Wood and ice is available on the farm and at the HutCamp and the PrivateCamp DSTV is included.
Turning to action, there's plenty to do at Breede Escape. For starters, there's the river lapping at your toes and a kayak to use on the river. A jetty at each facility gives easier access to the water. The fantastic birdlife is something not to miss and the Toktokkie hiking trail of 5 km starts right at the river. It takes you up the koppie for fantastic 360 Langeberg views and into the renosterveld. Nowadays Bonnievale also offers a dedicated Park Run at the Weltevrede Wine Estate each Saturday at 8h00.
And finally ( whew ! ), there's the appeal of chilling out with the friendly and curious Jersey cows, while they make shot work of their hearty meal of lucerne, grazing day and night on the green fields ! Yes you can bring your dog friend with, but please keep them leashed when out of your fenced area. The owners only allow dogs by arrangement. Your furry friend can enjoy some swims in the river and the great outdoors with you ! All said and done, Breede Escape is organised and good value, the setting beautiful and private, the owners friendly, and the general exerience unique.
