Budget Getaways Review
Fifteen kays from Robertson and tucked into the slopes of the Langeberg Mountains on a 12ha tract of fertile farming land, Lancewood TiPi Lodge is a down-to-earth escape from the usual city humdrum.
Circled by pretty surrounds crammed with hiking and mountain biking potential are three exclusive-use TiPi Camps.
Taking a closer look, Paws and Magic are pitched in a private spot 200m from Assegai House and Olea Cottage - also on Budget Getaways. Paws Camp has two canvas Tipis, sleeping five and four, respectively, while Magic features a single Tipi sleeping five.
The swanky Noy Noy TiPi camp (sleeps 2-3) sports a fab wooden deck with hammocks. Located away from the other two family camp and more private, there is also some awesome artwork inside the TiPi. Noy Noy is for certain the most private of the bunch, set well away from the other family camps. Here you can enjoy the stars in the private outdoor bath & shower under the trees.
Lancewood is glamping in style, because the Tipis are kitted with beds and bedding (duvet, pillow and extra blanket) - no stuffy nylon sleeping bags and hard ground here. Adding to the comfort level is solar lighting, open-air hot showers at each camp, as well as a central loo area where each camp is allocated ther own ablutions and more hot showers.
Easing the logistics even further, each camp has a solar powered Fridge, ensuring the beers stay well chilled. Firewood is available to buy.
To top it all off, you've got use of a sparkling swimming pool (short walk away) and a welcome summer wallowing hole.
Each camp comes standard with an equipped kitchen, braai and firepit.
There's plenty of scope for R&R at Lancewood - therapeutic massages by hostess Jackie, farm animals, archery, long hikes, plenty restaurants, farmstalls and wine estates around the corner.
An uber chill spot for families, groups and couples.

"Hey, we had such fun at NoyNoy! Thanks so much for accommodating us! we loved the walks, and being able to do cycling on the farm roads. We saw the resident Spotted Eagle Owls too. And a Nyala in the early morning."

Hey Susanne and family. So good to hear you all had a great stay at Noy Noy TiPi. Fabulous to hear you got to view some antelope and saw an Owl too :)
Being in a fruit farming area, there are times when machines work, and sound travels in our quiet valley. Thank goodness the noise stopped on Friday afternoon.

"Great place to relax"

"I never thought I will enjoy glamping like I did, your own bathroom and toilet, your own kitchen, animals visiting at night. Not only did my children have the best time of the lives, we enjoyed every single moment. The bonus is that we had the whole camping site to ourselves. Jackie and Andre are the best hosts. The pictures do not do justice to this place, but Jackie agreed that is her intention is to get more surprises when you get there. Try it, you will never regret it!"

"What a wonderful find! If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful, tranquil setting - this is it. I was surprised by the comfort and luxury of the Tipi - I stayed in Noy Noy - which has the added bonus of complete privacy, hammocks to relax in on the deck overlooking an indigenous forest, and stunning outdoor bath and shower - also overlooking the forest. Everything is so thoughtfully done, very eco-friendly, and everything you need. We enjoyed the hikes on the farm, relaxing around the pool, reading and snoozing in the hammocks, star-gazing at night, and fabulous braais in the firepit. Nothing but the sound of birdsong also ensures you come away feeling well rested! Our hosts, Jacquie and Andre are warm, friendly and you get the impression that nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this getaway for nature lovers, and for those who like a unique and different experience."

"What an amazing family stay we had at Lancewood Tipi's! The setting in the majestic valley is in incredible with panoramic mountain views from the campsite. Highlight was sitting under the stars with only the sound of your campfire burning with a glass of some of the amazing wine from the many wine estates in the area. Our two kids can not stop talking about the adventure they had and the experience of staying in the Tipi tent. The Paws Tipi site is extremely well thought out with everything we needed to be very comfortable. Hosts Jackie and Andre are extremely hospitable and welcoming and Jackie gave some excellent recommendations on activities and kid and doggie friendly places to visit in the area and of course wine estates. Would highly recommend Lancewood Tipi's to anyone who would like an amazing, peaceful break away!"

"My boyfriend and I enjoyed every minute of the tranquility Lancewood had to offer. Growing up on the farm myself, nature has always been home to me, but this was the first time experiencing such a unique and special Glamping getaway. The only problem was that the weekend was just too short so we will definitely be back for more in the near future!"

"Absolutely amazing and refreshing"

"Myself and my husband are still talking about this gem of a campsite that we found. Before we even left Jackie was on the ball with sending directions that were spot on and the moment we arrived we fell in love with the place. The TiPi tents are so spacious and so original our little girl couldn't get over her excitement of staying like an Indian. The attention to small details such as writing a greeting message on the chalk board on the fridge for us was so touching. We didn't need for anything when we were there. The accommodation and facilities were spotless and the atmosphere was amazing, so peaceful and quiet. A few of the highlights for our daughter was swimming, the cows grazing and the walk to Fairy Forest which we had to do twice as she wanted to see if the fairies left any new masks in the forest. I can't thank Andre and Jackie enough for having such an amazing getaway that we will be frequenting often."

"We had a wonderful holiday with our kids and dogs. It was our first time taking the dogs away, so we were a bit nervous. However, it worked out very well, especially since the immediate neighbours were quite happy to have random visits from our more gregarious doggie! We enjoyed awesome star-gazing at night around the campfire."

"We had an absolute ball at the TiPi Lodge. A huge thank you to Andre and Jackie for their hospitality. What a wonderful surprise to find everything so functional, neat and clean. The setting is just amazing and we definitely relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. A very special time for our family to come together and just 'be' in the most natural, peaceful and beautiful setting. We will definitely be visiting Lancewood TiPi Lodge again in the very near future. A truly wonderful holiday, to say the least."

"As a family, we loved the experience of sleeping in a TiPi and relaxing in the crystal clear swimming pool on a hot day. The hikes were lovely and our host, Andre made sure that we were well looked after and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a day out exploring the area of Robertson and Ashton. We would highly recommend this to anyone not quite ready for camping but wanting to experience something a little different."

"Lancewood TiPi Lodge is the best escape that I ever had in nature. The surroundings of the mountain next to you, the wake-up with sounds of birds in our ears is so relaxing and peaceful. Personally I will give Lancewood TiPi Lodge 10/10. What a wonderful stay,"

"It is amazing what Andre and Jackie have achieved in such a short space of time! Their Teepee Lodge has great appeal despite the fact that the trees and shrubs are not yet fully grown. The accommodation is very comfortable, they have thought of every detail and the ablutions are absolutely five star. For a weekend of total relaxation at a very reasonable rate, easy access to Robertson and the surrounding area, wonderful bird life and gentle strolls, you couldn't ask for more. Being able to take along your fur friends is a real bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and highly recommend it."

"What a find! We are used to hardcore camping, but decided to try this for a change and were definitely not disappointed! The adventure is not removed, but rather enhanced by this glamping experience! Firstly, it really is a real tipi! And it is huge! The hosts, Andre and Jackie are amazing and ensure that you know where everything is and how it works...except the 'creative box', which they leave you to discover for a surprise: such fun full of (clean) bones, feathers, animal skin etc for you to make hangings to display in the camp area. Magic Tipi has the most romantic table set in a wooded area to enjoy coffee in the mornings. The walks are numerous and stunning; beware of the puff adders though, which were a highlight once we had moved to safety! We were lucky enough to experience a thunder and lightning storm while we were there: we were snug as a bug in our beds watching the lightning through the sticks at the top of the tipi, and Andre even turned up (in the middle of the night) to ensure that we were okay and that we had managed to close the tipi flaps correctly. Value for money and fun like this are hard to find these days! Thanks Andre and Jackie! We hope to be back soon!"

"Most amazing natural experience. Jackie and Andre are such lovely hosts and have gone the extra mile to ensure no stone is left unturned when it comes to comfort, location, facilities, affordability and just plain kick ass accommodation. We did not want to leave and are returning a month later for some more natural living."
