"A good choice for a very quiet, simplistic breakaway with the good facilities and budget price. Book early to get the shady spots as it gets hot! Beautiful to be in the midst of the birdlife there...We were fortunate to see 2 Fish eagles :)"

"I took myself and my two children to Night Sky. It was the type of getaway that we were looking for. We really enjoyed the dam and the kayaks. It was a shame that the dam was quite low, but I guess that's what happens in the middle of a bad drought. We still had fun."

"We have visited this resort a number of times. We were caravanning and stayed for two weeks and were reluctant to go home. Our stay was out of season (and quiet honestly "Out of this world") and very quiet. Just what we needed. The condition of the resort was immaculate. The ablutions were very well maintained. The dam was beautiful and the free of charge canoes were good entertainment for the weekend visitors. I also had some relaxation on the dam doing some canoeing and getting in some really good Bird Watching. Thanks to our hard working hostess Siena for a wonderful resort. The views and surrounding vineyard are a sight to behold at this time of the year. Beautiful flat carpets of never ending green vines and fruit trees. Naturally we also took in some wine tasting which should not be missed when you visit this valley. Ironically we arrived in time for the "Wine on the River" festival which was very enjoyable. On the whole our holiday at Night Sky Caravan Farm was extremely enjoyable and we would not hesitate to make a booking here again."

"A lovely little gem. It was our first time "camping" and loved the relaxed and family-oriented atmosphere. All the campers were so friendly and our kids had visitors within 20 mins of arriving. We stayed in a cabin and absolutely loved it. The views, the tranquility, the peace...an amazing getaway from the city. We can't wait to go back."

I saw lots of interesting animals... on my last day I found a frog in my cooler bag and a rain spider on the painting I had let Natalie from "Natalies in Bonnievale" do for me. "It was great to be so close to nature yet have all the basic comforts of home. We just love the idea of mixing cabins in between the camping area and the choice of how much luxury you want to add to your outdoor experience. For the aspiring campers out there it's a great place to get started. You'll soon be hooked to the great outdoors. My favourite was the view from couch in the lounge - it was peace to my soul. It's a definite return venue."

"The Night Sky Caravan Farm was such an awesome experience. It was beautiful, clean, has the most extraordinary view and it so peaceful. The cottage we were in was absolutely magnificent. We were short of absolutely nothing. It was my first time camping alone with my kids, and this was really the best experience ever. On arrival we received such friendly and loving reception from Gesina. She really accommodated us with the best. I have already bragged to all of my friends about this amazing paradise and I'm definitely going back there soon!"

"Wow! What a lovely place. We had such a lovely long weekend here and our kids just played from the moment they woke up till they eventually collapsed in the evening. Many hours of fun was spent on the dam. A really amazing safe place for families and we will definitely be going back. If you go in Winter or anytime from now on I would really recommend taking lots of blankets and warms clothes, while the days are still warm the nights were freezing!"

"This was honestly one of the nicest camp sites I have ever stayed at. It has an amazing layout, the sites all face the water, there is lots of grass and shade. We have small children, so it meant we could relax and watch them in the water. The site has a number of canoes and paddles which the kids and adults enjoyed. The ablutions blocks were good. There were great braai facilities. There were a number of walks/runs and cycle paths to explore. The stars in the night sky were incredible, hence the name of the camp site. Gesina was friendly and accommodating of our requests. I would definitely go there again!"

"Was a fantastic place, wish Monday was a holiday so we could have stayed longer. Only issue we had was water pressure other wise all was well. Things to bring in winter include a heater and lots of wood, Bird life was amazing, forgot fishing rods but there is black mouth bass and blue gill in the dam. And watch for the cat, they like to steal food. We bought a bag of cat food which sorted that problem out quickly. Other than that enjoy the sunset and the peace and quiet."

"My wife Lynnette, friend Auke Slotegraaf and I have just hosted the 9th Southern Star Party since 2011 at Night Sky Caravan Farm. We are going to host the 10th one there in November 2015. It is the sort of place you just have to keep on going back to and Gesina is the the "best in the West"as far as hosts go. Night Sky is also one of the darkest venues within easy driving distance of Cape Town for astronomy enthusiasts and certainly the most affordable one."

"Wat n wonderlike plekkie om wegtebreek van die stad se geraas,was heerlik,geen selfoon opvangs so net jy en die natuur. Heerlik vis gevang,baie visse in die dam,lekker kanoe gery en dan natuurlik die lekker braai op die deck. Met die maanlig oor die dam,selfde in die oggende met die mooi sonsopkoms. "I've taken the wife and kids to many different places in the past but there was always something that was not right with the places and this time we expected the same. This however was not the case. when you plan on going away having a braai with the family and just taking some time out "Nights Sky Caravan Farm" is the best place to go and chill. On the water jetty's and clean ground, believe it or not even mowed lawns this is the place. This was the best time away sins my honey moon and would most definitely go back. I would rate this place x10 stars. Go for a walk in Bonnievale and enjoy craft shops, restaurants and even antique cars and furniture. there was more than enough to do at night sky and surrounds. Thanks Night sky, we will see you again in 2016."

"We had a ball of a time. The bathroom facilities could have been a little bit cleaner BUT its a budget getaway so we where happy. We camped right opposite the ablution block and under a nice big tree. We will definitely be going back."

"We had an excellent four days there in January. The dam provides great entertainment for swimming, fishing (bass fishing is fabulous) and readily accessible good quality two man and one man kayaks. The surrounds are rugged and provide some good mountain-biking. While cycling you may see resident blue cranes, mountain Reedbuck and many other animal species. It was really hot in the middle of the day, so choose a spot that gets afternoon sun. Some good wine tasting spots are nearby, which are great to visit in the middle of the day and to return to the awesome moon-rise over the dam in purple-pink sky."

"The first time we camped at Night Sky was December 1999... We have been doing so since then! December 2007/08 has been our 9th year... Four weeks were too short! Jurie and Gesina, we are proud of you. A better place to relax and unwind we will never find. The children can run around and play outside till late and it is very, very safe...! Everything at Night Sky is special, from the clean and quiet campsite, to the best wines. You must try Langverwacht Shiraz 2004 if visiting! Don't even consider going there, just go...!"
