Set on the outskirts of Calitzdorp, with an outlook over orchards and vineyards, 365 on St Helena is a restored house offering two simple semi-self-catered units.
A typical Karoo abode with sash windows, colourful shutters, covered voorstoep and a gleaming tin roof, the larger of the units is a two-bedroomed family suite sleeping six.
Stepping inside, you'll find a double bed and four singles, an open-plan lounge, equipped kitchen and dining room. In summer, blessed air-con is to be found in one of the bedrooms.
For a more compact option, the second suite sleeps four in an open-plan room - one double and a bunk bed. For the independent traveller in you, there’s a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and tea and coffee facilities.
Common to both units are TV monitors linked up to DVD players, and bathrooms with showers only. Each unit has it’s own entrance and private braai area.
Out and about you’ve got four of Calitzdorp’s port vineyards within walking distance, a small selection of okayish restaurants/coffee shops, and plenty in the way of interesting backroads to explore in every direction.
A simple and comfortable no-nonsense stop-off in a quiet corner of the dorp.
