Budget Getaways Review
Waking up to rolling Atlantic breakers, sandy buckets and spades heaped at the front door, a griddle of fresh langoustines on the lunch braai… All within an hour or so from Cape Town.
75 on Hoofweg is a spacious holiday home along Yzerfontein's seafront. And by 'seafront' we mean virtually on the sand.
The house is your typical low maintenance holiday home by the sea - no rolling lawns or manicured gardensn, no fancy furnishings; with an outlook like this there's little need for these added frills. Injecting further value to the location is a sheltered pebble beach directly across the road.
With much of the living area spread across the upper floor, the Atlantic views will likely keep you pinned to your deck chair for many an hour.
The house sleeps eight total in four large bedrooms - three of these with sea views. The main bedroom is ensuite, the balance share a bathroom and toilet.
The living area comprises a large open-plan kitchen built for post-beach cook-ups, a dining area and lounge with DSTV.
Throw open the sliding doors, take a deep breath of salty air and step onto the patio - golden sunsets, sweaty joggers and whales in season await.
Back on ground level we have a double garage for the Beemer, plenty of space for your beach toys, and an entertainment room with dining table, pool table and indoor braai/fireplace.
Fishing, long beach walks, icy swims, horse riding, wine routes, braaing, there's more than ample to keep you and the gang busy in Yzerfontein.
Good seaside spot for two families or a group of friends.
"We really enjoyed our stay at 75 on Hoofweg. The owner, Suretha, was a pleasure to deal with and Amelia who brought us the keys, what a friendly lady. it was a real tranquil short break and the house was very spacious and met most of our requirements, very nicely laid out and "homey". We loved the personal touches to the house which made us feel quite at home. We especially loved the reading material provided."

"What a nice place to stay. We had a great time there in the beginning of March. The place is perfectly set close to the harbour and literally a stone throw from the sea. I mean you cross the road from the drive way and you on a stony beach that becomes a little beach when the tide is out. But just 5-10min walk and you are on a pristine beach that is cleaned every morning. The house was perfect for our family of 9, 6 adults and 3 kids who ran around and had a blast. Facility has everything you need. It is a family house and the best part the drive was only an hour and you feel like you on holiday. Go down to the harbour and see if you can get some fish of the boat. Can highly recommend Rene's cafe which is attached to Jaijiki Guest House. All in all an awesome relaxing holiday enjoyed."

"We had a super weekend at this home, however a weekend was to short to really enjoy the beach and surroundings. We even got to see a baby whale in the bay and were able to watch from the lounge window and huge balcony."

"The owner was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the cleaning crew on site was not sufficient, therefore the standard was not what we expected for what we paid. The setting was the best thing about the stay, but unfortunately there was just to many other things wrong."

"Thank for your feedback Anina, I welcome positive and negative feedback as it brings certain things under my attention which is necessary to keep and improve the standards of the house. It is important to me that everything in the house is in order so that guests enjoy their stay. I will definitely talk to the cleaners about the complaint, I am aware that they were extremely busy, because of peak season, however this is not an excuse. For the other 'things' that were wrong I would gladly like explain to anyone who would like to enquiry about it. I do not live in Yzerfontein to have a weekly checkup of maintenance work and rely on cleaners services to notify me. I did apologise to the guests and also gave them a refund for the inconvenience."

"I joined friends and our kids on a spontaneous weekend away, just to have a break from the city life. Upon my arrival, I had the feeling of relaxation overcome me, pure happiness and just contentment as I sat in the living room area and just stared at the serene view of the sea. The house has a sense of coming home after a long day that just lifts your spirits to enjoy a braai, have some wine and just enjoying the sound of the waves whilst sitting back to unwind from your day. The beds! Oh i think there's a magical spell, you barely put your head down and you have the soundest sleep ever. Upon waking up, the sun gushes through your windows, waking you up with a smile, a feeling of revival is what I experienced with this place and would recommend it to anyone who would like to just escape reality for a little while."

"The location was amazing, the pictures really do no justice as the scenery is simply majestic. I think along the strip the house is situated in the most perfect location right on the beach. Very spacious and very nice for groups of 8 or so."
