West Coast hospitality at its finest, Journey’s End is a neat and tidy little getaway run by super-friendly and helpful host Christa.
This compact little unit is semi-detached from the main house, but with its own private entrance and enclosed garden, meaning you can bring Fido (provided he’s well behaved and you request this in advance).
The property sits on the Britannica Heights and is only five minutes drive to the nearest beach and restaurant down in St Helena Bay, but the views and sunsets in particular from your cozy patio may make it difficult to leave.
Looking at the unit itself, you’ve got a simple, open plan setup with queen size bed, dining table, kitchenette with fridge, microwave and stove and complimentary tea and coffee. There’a a TV with limited DSTV channels. Linen and towels are provided. Open the front door and you’re out onto a patio, where you’ve got a table and braai.
The enclosed garden opens out from below the patio and the views stretch over farmland with the Atlantic ocean in the distance. Nice!
Journey’s End makes a super base for the budget conscious from which to explore the surroundings, and there’s plenty to keep you on your feet here. From gentle walks heading directly out of the property to exploring the nearby beaches (bring your wetsuit if you plan on swimming!).
There’s restaurants and character-packed harbours to explore in both St Helena and nearby Paternoster. You can even take a boat cruise up the Berg River…Christa is on hand to advise on many of the other activities in the area.
Friendly, neat, cozy and comfortable. A great spot for the two of you to hunker down on your next West Coast adventure.
