Budget Getaways Review

Beautifully positioned amidst the rolling hills of the Hemel en Aarde Valley, Rustic Hideaways not only lies within easy reach of Hermanus, but is also within easy strike of a platter of quality wine estates, good mountain bike trails and some gobsmacking scenery.

The three accommodation options are dotted a fair distance apart, around a series of farm dams.

The Farmhouse and Felicia House are the two larger units, while The Dairy House is a more compact cottage-style abode. All are tastefully decorated, with open timber beams, fireplaces and a classic farmstyle vibe.

Looking at each in detail, The Farmhouse has a total four double bedrooms (one ensuite)  and three bathrooms. The living area and kitchen are open-plan and spacious, with a large fireplace. Up in the loft, you’ve got two extra double beds and an entertainment area with DSTV. The Farmhouse has its own swimming pool and full length patio.

Felicia House is the biggest of the bunch. Well suited to a family, the house packs four bedrooms (two Kings and two twins) and three bathrooms; two bedrooms are ensuite. Again, the house is spacious and modern and sports a swimming pool, rolling lawns and even a tree house for the kids.

The Dairy House comes with compact cottage feel and three upstairs bedrooms - two doubles and a twin. The living area is flowy and open-plan to an equipped farm kitchen, and opens out via double doors to a patio and braai area. There is no TV, but with five hectares of fields and forests around the cottage, who needs the distraction?

Each abode comes with outdoor braai and entertainment areas, private parking, as well as all linen and towels provided.

With oodles of style, lots to do nearby, a setting second to none, a friendly host, 'Rustic' is a term that should be taken with a tiny pinch of salt. As far as we’re concerned, this one's a gem.
