Budget Getaways Review
You’ve most likely never heard of Dwarskersbos. Well, it's one of the west coast’s best kept secrets. Long swathes of pristine white beaches, dotted with fishing boats and seasonal whale watching second to none. This is a great place to put up your feet and enjoy a bit of coastal living, far from the crowds, yet pretty close to Cape Town (under 200 kays).
Now that we’ve set the scene, let’s take a look at our getaway. Saints at Sea is a gorgeous, modern holiday home, situated on a quiet back road, no less than 150 steps from the beach (now that’s pretty close!).
The house sleeps six in total, making it well-suited to two couples sharing or a family. Sporting a light and airy interior, with plenty of space and an easy going vibe, the house has all the mod-cons to ease up the holiday workload.
Fibre internet, Netflix, Nespresso machine and dishwasher make this getaway one which you can comfortably sink into for a few days of solid R&R.
Looking at the general layout, you’ve got three bedrooms (two kings and one twin). The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower, while the other two rooms share a bathroom, which has a bath and shower. All towels and linen are provided.
The living area is open plan, with a well-equipped and spacious kitchen. There are comfortable couches in the living room, as well as a six-seater dining table and indoor braai in the dining area. There is also a covered patio area leading off the living room.
The beach is the primary focus here and there really are miles of unspoilt coastline right on your doorstep. There are also a number of small fishing villages and places to explore either up or down the coast from Dwarskers. Kayaking, SUP-ing and kitesurfing (did we mention the wind here!) are all possibilities for the more energetic.
A super-relaxed patch of west coast with a stylish pad to base yourself at. We can’t see any reason why you shouldn’t be packing already.
