This is big sky territory! Here in Sutherland you'll find the lovely Artist Cottage.
The house contains two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, and comfortably sleeps four or five. Downstairs has a bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. An open-plan dining area, kitchen and a big inside fireplace, built in the old-fashioned way. Upstairs is a loft bedroom, which is accessible via stairs inside the house or outside of the house. The room has a modern open-plan bathroom with a loose standing Victorian bath, a separate toilet and enough space to sit and read. Outside is karoo-style firepit for those relaxed evenings under the stars.
Sutherland's awe inspiring skies are but one of the attractions for visiting. It's in the middle of nowhere, obviously or those night skies wouldn't be what they are, which means people visit here to escape from everything, and it's also one of the coldest towns in the country (other than Bufffelsfontein) with frequent snow falls during winter, the looming Roggeveld Mountains bedecked in snow.
So pack your winter woolies and get going.
