Blending easily into its surrounds on a permaculture farm 16km from George, Widdershins Cottage is a neat and compact little number with plenty in the way of feel-good touches and open farm vistas.
Newly renovated and flanked by a lush garden, the cottage sits on the rim of a wooded valley, accentuated to the max by a deck with deep views.
Taking a virtual peek around the cottage, fresh muted tones, clay floor tiles, crisp white linen and simple furnishings are the order of the day.
For the folks there's a double ensuite bedroom, for the kids a second room with bunk beds.
The living room has a scattering of sofas and a Jetmaster, while the kitchenette is decently kitted, including gas stove.
From both the main bedroom and living spaces, double doors lead onto the deck (with portable braai) and more of those nice views.
Apart from a maze of hiking, biking and running in and around the farm, the kids will love Redberry Farm - strawberry-picking heaven just five kays down the road. The beach is also an option, though not really the main reason for your stay at Widdershins - Herolds Bay and Glentana are about a 15km drive. And, if you're really desperate for something to do on a rainy day, there's always George Mall.

"Wow what a gorgeous place! We really had a lovely time and 2 nights was way too short, we definitely could have stayed longer! We loved the beautifully set out cottage with fresh flowers in vases all round on our arrival and the most gorgeous view of the farmlands and mountains. The basket of farm fresh veggies and eggs was such a lovely treat and the our boys loved helping to collect the veg and feed the chicken. Widdershins Cottage really is a beautiful place and the attention to detail is stunning. it is close to George if you feel the need to go but our time at the cottage away from the hustle and bustle was just perfect. The stash of games for the kids was such a lovely touch and we even enjoyed a game of family twister -what a laugh. Love love love it! We all hope to see you again and visit you beautiful farm."

"A beautiful cottage with inspiring vistas of the mountains. The cottage is cleverly decorated with attentions to detail and we had a very comfortable stay. Each room had fresh flowers and I loved the palette Lisa chose to decorate with. We (my husband and I plus two children) were very sad to leave."

"The cottage is beautifully restored and furnished with everything you need. The fireplace heats up the whole area and the views are breathtaking from the large veranda. The service is excellent and the hostess Lisa goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment of it. It is just a very short distance from town. The peace and quite is something to experience."
