Budget Getaways Review
Newly renovated and neatly dressed to host eight happy weekenders, this well-appointed farmhouse on Diamant Guest Farm is circled by lawned gardens and an horizon broken only by the pretty Langeberg.
Access to the farm from the N2 is easy - down a good 1.5km gravel road.
The farmhouse has four spacious double bedrooms, all of them ensuite - making Diamant ideal for couples or families sharing. The rooms are decked with percale linen and bath towels.
The living area features Oregon floors and exposed timber beams and double doors leading onto a long covered stoep, where you’ll also find the plunge pool - very welcome respite from the Overberg’s summer sizzle.
The kitchen (with dishwasher - keeping hubbie's hand nice and soft) is a large farm-style affair leading off the dining area, where you’ve got an indoor braai. The living room comes with DSTV.
The garden is lawned and prepped for those evening cricket matches with the kids. There are wine farms nearby, cycling routes and hiking trails in the surrounding area, and Swellendam is 25km up the road.
A comfortable and easy-going farm stay, soothing vistas and a sparkling swimming pool, Diamant looks set to become a gem in the Overberg crown.
