Budget Getaways Review
Little Willow Brooke is ideally appointed: within easy walking distance of Franschhoek’s hub, yet in atmosphere, miles from anywhere.
Perched above a bubbly stream that meanders through a rush of oak and willow trees (hence the name), Willow Brooke is a cute Cape-styled cottage with all the traditional elements: green tin roof, rough white-washed walls, wonky terracotta paving, rietdak ceilings, cottage furniture and paintings of country scenes.
It’s ideal for a romantic couple seeking a cosy base to the surrounding area – anything more could be a bit cramped.
The neat interior comprises a separate ensuite bedroom with queen-size bed (with a view) and a tiny kitchen that forms part of the lounge area, where you’re likely to spend your evenings in front of the fireplace with a book from the adjacent shelf - The River Running By, Island and The Nomads are just some of the titles to get you into that holiday mood. The ensuite bathroom has a shower only.
Sensibly, there's no TV, but there is a CD player - so don't forget to pack your Neil Diamond Greatest Treffers.
Outside, you have the choice of wallowing in your own private plunge pool with deck or catching some rays on your sun deck. If that sounds like too much to handle, then ambling down to the stream and dozing under the trees on a patch of open lawn is another tempting option. You'll also find the newly added boma down here, perfect for those lazy summer evenings. Decisions, decisions…

"I had such a great time. It was the ideal breakaway for my fianc and I. It felt completely like we were in a movie. It was raining outside, but we were cozied up in front of the fireplace, had some good wine, great music and great company. The cottage was clean and the view is magnificent. It feels like you are one with nature, yet the busy town is less than 5-minutes away with everything you need. The cottage is also not too far from the beautiful wine farms. Thank you so much for sharing your piece of heaven with us Michelle. We will definitely be back."

"Wow what a gem of a place! You feel like you are on a completely different continent. Little Willow Brooke is warm and inviting with all the creature comforts as well as all the privacy and serenity from nature that you could wish for. Michelle is so welcoming and warm and you can't help but relax around her. This hidden gem is the perfect getaway for you and your loved one. Close enough to everything but also removed enough to feel that you are in a secret forest and it's just you and your partner. If the rating is out of 5 I give this accommodation a 10!"

"This precious gem of peace and tranquility in such beautiful surroundings was so much more that we expected. The owners are so friendly. They went out of their way to store our trailer with valuable equipment while we stayed there. Our stay there was exactly what we needed after working hard the whole year. Definitely worth our five stare rating."

"I booked a trip to Little Willow Brooke for my dad as a birthday gift, they have never been there before. On the day of their arrival I got a call saying that the place looks identical to the images they had seen on the internet. They enjoyed their stay in front of the fireplace inside a cozy home. The river was close by they had the pool the fireplace, all they had to do was relax and they done just that. I will definitely be making another booking ... just have to decide whether it will be for my parents or myself!"

"Little Willow Brooke is the perfect getaway not far from home. The cottage is very pretty, very clean, comfortable and inviting. We adored the cottage! Especially the pool. We felt at home straight away. We want to visit again during winter so we can sit by the indoor fire with a glass of red wine from one of the local wine farms. Absolute bliss!"
