Budget Getaways Review
Lying less than 30km from Thabazimbi in a grand game reserve, Motsomi offers style, exclusivity and a spirit of African adventure.
There are three different accommodation options.
First off are the brick and thatch chalets that sleep two in twin or Queen beds. These have ensuite bathrooms, bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities, air-con, and gorgeous views.
Built and fitted along similar lines are the Poolside Cottages, which also sleep two apiece.
For something more Out of Africa-like, we say cut to the chase and book one of the East African-inspired safari tents. There are four in total, each erected on a raised timber deck overlooking the swimming pool. Aimed at couples, each sleeps two, with ensuite bathrooms standard. This is glamping in style.
Apart from comfortable beds, Motsomi boasts an elegant wedding and conference venue for 120 guests. Something to think about if you're planning to pop the question.
With a range of relaxing activities on tap - game viewing, swimming in the heated pool, shooting the breeze at the entertainment area - Motsomi is your one-stop bushveld shop.
"Baie dankie vir jul gasvryheid gedurende ons verblyf. Motsomi Lodge is veilig (kinders ingesluit) en rustig en die geboue met hul binne versierings skep n rustige en romantiese atmosfeer. Ek kan Motsomi aanbeveel vir enige persoon. Baie dankie."

"We had a wonderful weekend at Motsomi. We enjoyed our stay in our clean, well kept chalet, beautiful clean swimming pool and well stocked kitchen. We will definitely go again. Thank you."

"The overall feedback is very positive. A great camp and great facilities. The only thing that was really disturbing was people who were driving around the whole day on their quad bikes. So we hoped for a peaceful weekend and to enjoy the quietness of the bush, but we found ourselves listening to endless noise of people driving around on quad bikes. So if you want to opt for a quiet weekend, this might not be the place to visit (despite the wonderful facilities). Establishment's response: I refer to the review from one of our guests on 23 December 2013 regarding the quad bikes that they found disturbing. I apologise most sincerely for this. We do not allow guests with quad bikes on the farm, however, I had family staying over and my grandchildren were on our bikes. I have noted the comment and will not allow the children to ride the quads when we have guests in camp."
