Flipping through the guest feedback for O’Grady’s, it’s clear this is a getaway which has been central to many a memorable fishing trip and family break. “So relaxing. Owned by the O’Grady family since the early 1950‘s, the farm is reached by a rough gravel road. Rolling grassland, shimmering trout dams and a river tumbling through gorgeous countryside are your deserved reward at the end of it.
On the accommodation front, the options come in the form of three solid and comfortable cottages in various shapes and sizes. For larger groups or two families, Reitzii Guest House and Ouma’s pack in six guests each, with Ouma’s being the more private of the two, as it's set away from the main farmhouse.
Both have three bedrooms with an additional two beds for overflow. Fully equipped for sel- catering, each has a soothing garden setting and outdoor braai area.
Tucked away below a glade of trees in a private spot on the farm, Granny’s Cottage is a cute little two-bedroom number. It's ideal for couples or a family with two kids. Fully equipped, the cottage has great views over the river, a private garden and an outside braai area.
While much of the focus at O’Grady’s is centered around fishing, you can also while away the daylight hours with farm walks, horse riding and a 4x4 route or two. As evening sets in, fire up the Blitz , pour a wee dram, and take in the silence.
Be it a family holiday with hound, or a no-nonsense weekend dedicated to tight lines only, the soothing location, decent accommodation and easy-going vibe at O’Grady’s makes for an appealing choice of getaway.

"Not only is O'Grady's a great place to unwind and relax due to the amazing and peaceful views and landscape but the O'Grady's hospitality is awesome. At a very early hour and without a moment's hesitation the O'Grady's clan and our neighbour (also a weekend guest) came to our rescue for a medical emergency. You guys are the best. Thanks again for the honour and privilege of sharing your lovely farm but more importantly meeting such genuine and kind people. We will definitely be back!"
