Budget Getaways Review

Let’s jump in with a few choice comments from recent Raptor Rise patriots: “Top quality chill spot in the valley.” “Great value for money and everything was of exceptional quality.” “Blown away by the views.” “A wonderful, peaceful, luxurious getaway!”

With a dramatic outlook towards the Winterhoek amphitheatre, and quality accommodation, Raptor Rise has the makings of a feel-good family or shared couples getaway.

Accommodation comes in the form of The Cottage, a three-bedroomed abode with swimming pool, and the newly added Stables - comprising a combination of twin and king rooms, and a self-catering flat for families.

First up, The Cottage. This is a stylish dwelling circled by rolling lawns, and a patio with swimming pool in front. Not much persuasion needed here.

Two ensuite doubles opening directly to the patio, a twin loft room upstairs with ensuite loo, a comfortable lounge (with fireplace) that's open-plan to the dining room and equipped kitchen, you're all set to go.

Braai’s and al fresco dining are mandatory here, accompanied by lazy appreciation of the gobsmacking vistas from your perch on the patio.

Moving along to The Stables (four units), by all accounts these are luxurious suites. Each comes with ensuite bathroom (with shower), kitchenette and shared patio. For a little more privacy and space, one of the units has its own patio and a more roomy kitchen.

Accommodation aside, there's ample farm and outdoor activities to scratch the endorphin itch, not to mention Tulbagh itself just down the road.

If it's a stylish country pad you're hankering for, we'd say you're pretty safe betting on Raptor Rise.
