Right in the heart of Cape St Francis, within easy reach of Seal Point and the beach, Watercolours is a stylish and modern family pad.
Flicking through the guest book, the feedback paints a pretty picture. “The house has generous proportions, is bright and clean and has a friendly and comfortable feel.” “Watercolours is a firm favourite getaway for our family.” “A comfortable spot. Close to the surf and beach.”
So far, so very good.
Taking a look at the house, you’ve got comfortable sleeping space for up to 12 guests, with three bedrooms and a dorm-style loft. The three downstairs bedrooms have Queen, double and twin beds, respectively - the Queen comes with an ensuite bathroom.
Besides partial sea views, the loft room has six single beds. The kids will love it.
The living area is light, spacious and modern. There’s DSTV, a fireplace and fully equipped open-plan kitchen (dishwasher included), with a large dining table for those post-beach family feasts. Leading out from here is a covered patio and outdoor braai lapa… Bring on the fish.
Ideal for kids, the garden is fully fenced and lawned, and the beach just a short stroll away. When not on the beach, there are a number of hikes and biking trails in the area, as well as guided tours of the Seal Point Lighthouse and the Penguin Sanctuary.
If the idea of a family jaunt up to Cape St Francis scratches the travel itch, look no further than Watercolours.
"We (family of four, kids 2 & 5 yrs) have stayed several times at Watercolours and it'll always be our first choice when going on holiday in Cape St Francis. The house has generous proportions, is bright and clean and has a friendly and comfortable feel. Its not too styled and 'fancy' which allows for a super relaxed beach holiday, especially with kids. The kitchen and scullery are very well equipped and the beds are comfy. The garden (partial sea views) is fenced and hence also great for children. Seal Point and the beach is a minute's walk away and the quiet road road is perfect for kids to ride their bikes on. For windier days the back garden with braai area is ideal. Joan is a lovely host - very organised, reliable and helpful."

Irrespective of weather conditions or time of year, this will always be one of our favorite destinations. The owners are warm and welcoming and the house is beautifully kept with modern conveniences and a family friendly floor plan."
