An old family favourite on the Wild Coast circuit, Kob Inn offers a familiar mix of warm hospitality, great food, plenty of adventure, relaxation and home comfort.
Located right on the seafront, the lodge sports 44 ensuite rooms, all let on a full board basis and many with sea views.
All sleep two, but there are also a number of interleading suites which can be used as four-sleeper family rooms. For the romantics, the honeymoon suites have king-sized beds and plenty of privacy.
The lawned gardens are flanked by sheltered beaches, where you can clock up some good hours on white sands. From there, it's onto the tennis court, swimming pool, trampoline, billiard table, and a great bar and dining area with DSTV.
There's also horse riding and canoeing on the nearby river, and cycling into the nearby coastal reserve.
Best of all, there's an on-site babysitting service - hallelujah! Which means you can actually do most of the above, not just read about it.
While general prices at Kob Inn are higher than most of our featured getaways, these include three scrumptious meals a day and great discounts for kids under 12 - making this an affordable option for a hassle-free break where you don't need to lift a finger. About bloody time!

"A family all-inclusive resort on a beautiful spot of the Wild Coast. We enjoyed our time there very much. Our room was spacious and clean, with an ocean view. The food was nice and plentiful. We loved the seafood buffet on Saturday night. The beaches are beautiful and deserted. All to ourselves. We could not believe it, specially on a long Easter weekend. Our little one enjoyed eating her meals with the other kids in the kiddies dining room and playing in the jungle gym and the play and TV room. The road there is not paved. It's almost an hour-long bumpy ride in a 2x4. Maybe that is why not so many people adventure there. The bar is well stocked and has very good prices."
