Budget Getaways Review
Little Nest's vibe is much like its name suggests - a homely pad in a sprawling garden framed by milkwood trees and lagoon and mountain views.
From the house it's a two-minute drive to Myoli Beach, where hungry kabeljou are rumored to lurk. For kids hankering after lagoon time, this is also close by.
Good for a family (or even two), Little Nest sleeps six in total - unfurling the sleeper couch will push this up to eight.
Split across two levels, a large living and dining area attached to an open-plan kitchen occupies the top floor. From here it's through timber stack doors to the deck for a boozy al fresco lunch/braai, washed down with a lagoon and Outeniqua vista.
In keeping with a family getaway, there are two bedrooms upstairs - one with double bed, one with twin beds. The bedrooms are light and generous and fitted with a mix of fans and air-con. The third bedroom, a double can be found downstairs.
Also at ground level is an entertainment room decked with bar, pool table and DSTV. Take note, gents. This opens to the garden.
On matters male, off-street parking and a double garage will ensure the chariot is kept safe.
Apart from a nice beach and lagoon, Sedgefield has a smattering of restaurants, the Wild Oats market is a Saturday institution, and Wilderness and Knysna are a 20-minute drive in either direction.
Good appointment, plenty of space for a group, decent decor and well equipped. Try it - you might change your mind about Sedgefield.
"The house was large, spacious and had a wonderful garden and outdoor entertaining area and view as well as having pristine bedding, beautiful bathrooms and clean fresh towels. There were however a couple of things that were noted: for the cost per day, we would have appreciated a small soap in the bathrooms (we had to go back out to Spar on arrival so that we didn't have to use dish-washing liquid in the shower!). There were no drying up clothes, so again, we had to go out to purchase those. The braai grid was dirty and we found one ice tray in the drawer and had not been told that the fire place did not work. I hadn't specifically asked about the fire place so perhaps that was my fault but being winter, it would have been nice to light a fire on the chilly evenings (I had asked if there was anything we needed to bring). Unfortunately the neighbour's dogs barked continuously at night and in the early morning which I know cannot be helped. These things were a pity as it was all small things that could have made it a perfect holiday home that we would have recommended to others. Please note that the house is advertised as having three rooms on the same level, that is not correct, two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs (those with small kids may need to know this)."

"It was perfect for two families, we stayed in the top bit and our friends at the bottom, nice to spend time together, but not be in each others way. View is amazing, it it is a quiet street and very close to all shops and beach / lagoon, but you still don't feel as if you are in a busy area at all. You have to drive to lagoon, but it is not far. Cosy and all facilities were in good condition."

"A very beautiful house with wonderful views set in the peaceful town of Sedgefield. The house is well equipped and offers everything one needs. Close to Knysna, Wilderness and Plettenberg Bay. I would love to go back!"
