Tucked away on a quiet street, right in the heart of Hermanus, Whale Time ranks among the original Hermanus cottages,
Lovingly restored, yet retaining plenty of charm and character, it sits a few hundred meters from the village centre - meaning you’ve got everything at your fingertips here, from shops and restaurants, to the famous cliffs path for those evening rambles and whale sightings.
Taking a look around the house itself, don’t be deceived by the tiny cottage appearance from the street. Past the front door, you enter a spacious 11-sleeper home, with timber floors, exposed beams and a mix of contemporary and classic furnishings.
Like we said, the house can sleep a whopping 11 guests - though a smaller group would have a more comfy time of it - and is made up of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedroom one and two have King beds (with the option of twins if needed), while the third bedroom has twin beds and an additional set of bunk beds. Both bathrooms have a shower and bath. All linen and bath towels are included.
The living area is open-plan to the kitchen, which is well equipped for self-catering. There is a dining table and comfortable sofas in the lounge area, and you’ve got WiFi and DSTV coverage.
Head out from the living room via double doors to the swimming pool and braai area, as well as a shaded patio and the lawned garden beyond.
Great for a group or two families sharing, Whale Time looks set to be the go-to for anyone wanting to be right in the hub of Hermanus action, without having to break the bank.
"Our family had a great stay at WhaleTime in Hermanus. The house is perfectly located in the center of town - so close to everything we need: cafes, bars, grocery stores and even the cliff path! The house is rather spacious (esp. for a large family!) and equipped with everything you need! The swimming pool was a great win for the kids. We spent hours braaiing and swimming.For our next trip to Hermanus, I will definitely stay at WhaleTime again!"
